Lisa Covey, DC, ART,
CCST
Director
of FitWell Chiropractic Sports
Medicine, Dr. Covey graduated from Life Chiropractic College West, cum laude, where she continues to guest lecture.
Dr. Covey is certified with
the
Spine Research Institute of San Diego which provides research and education in the area of traumatic spinal
injury.
Dr. Covey not only treats the spine but also the extremities. She has treated the shoulders of professional
football players, the hands of
musicians, the backs of policemen and women, the feet of golfers, surfers and marathon runners. In addition she is
a certified Active Release
Techniques (ART) provider and specializes in all manners of soft tissue and repetitive strain injuries both of the
spine and the extremities. For
this reason, she serves as a referral physician for SF General Hospital, St Francis Spine Center and various
orthopedic surgeons.
Dr. Covey treats and consults with a wide variety of athletes, both professional and recreational. Her philosophy
and treatment approach stem
from
personal as well as professional experience. Whether you're an athlete or non-athlete the same principles of
prevention, remedy and recovery
apply.

Heather
Maxwell,
DC, ART, ATC
Dr. Maxwell graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. She is a
certified Active Release
Techniques
(ART) provider and certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). Dr. Maxwell enjoys the challenge of treating the body as a
functional unit, addressing any
soft
tissue injuries, along with spine and extremity treatment. She has helped patients from many different backgrounds
attain an increased level of
health through chiropractic care and soft tissue therapy.
While Dr. Maxwell has worked with almost every type of athlete, she can especially empathize with those who pursue
events of endurance distance,
as
she has completed four marathons and two Ironman triathlons. She is passionate about helping people of all ages
return to the activities they
love. |

Gabriella Cole,
Pilates Instructor
Empowering people to heal themselves is Gabriella's greatest goal. With
over 20 years of dance and sport movement studies, and over 10 years of
teaching experience Gabriella brings a sense of curiosity and wisdom to each
session. She strives to help people find breath to their movements both
inside and outside of the Pilates studio.
Gabriella graduated from NYU with honors. She is trained in gyrotonic,
gyrokinesis, Anusara yoga and Corealighn. She has also studied the work of
Vladimir Janda and his Physiotherapy concepts of muscle reorganizational
training. Gabriella received her Pilates certification in 2007 from Ellie
Herman. She continues to study how to use the Pilates method in a
rehabilitative setting, and to learn more about how the body and mind work.
Gabriella is currently completing her Doctor of Chiropractic at Life West
Chiropractic College, and looks forward to integrating movement modalities
into her chiropractic sessions.

Beth Clarke, Pilates Instructor
Beth took her
first Pilates class in 1999. Immediately intrigued by its complexity, and inspired by the results, she became an
avid
student until she started teaching in 2006. Also a professional circus performer, Pilates is the perfect compliment
to Beth's circus work. It has kept her balanced on a rope in front of audiences around the world. She received a
diploma
from The Pilates Education Lab at Sanchez Street Studios in 2006, from the Master's Program at The Pilates Center
of Boulder in 2012, and studied with Jennifer Stacey of Peak Performance Pilates. She is amazed and inspired each
day by
the positive effects of Pilates both on herself and her clients. |

Christine
Doo, CMT
Christine Doo is a Certified Massage
Therapist and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. As a graduate of the National Holistic
Institute, Christine is well versed in
many massage modalities including Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue, Swedish, Shiatsu, Thai
massage and has the ability to
tailor each session to her client's needs. She is currently furthering her education at NHI's Advanced
Neuromuscular Medical Massage program, and
enjoys the detailed attention to specific muscles. Her love for kinesiology and active lifestyle (yoga, running,
tennis) give her a better
understanding of how to heal soft tissue injuries, increase range of motion, and relieve pain and tension.
Christine likens her body work to her many years of working with clay as a ceramicist. The muscles in the body
respond to touch and with the
right
pressure and a little bit of love, they go to their natural and beautiful form. |

Arnold Dela Cruz, CMT
Arnold Dela
Cruz is a Certified Massage Practitioner through
California Massage Therapy Council and a member of Associated
Bodywork & Massage Professionals. As a graduate from the San
Francisco School of Massage, he completed his training
in Advanced Massage with focus in
Swedish/Relaxation and Deep Tissue.
He places great value on the innate healing abilities in all of us with
a
focus in intuition and anatomical knowledge to help release long held
tension, both emotional and physical. His main goal is to help
people get to a state of relaxation and provide pain relief.
Arnold draws his healing energy from an active lifestyle that includes basketball, tennis,
free weight-lifting, hiking and meditation. |

Daniel
Davies, CMT
A native of London, England Daniel relocated to the Bay Area in 2006. Daniel's passion for bodywork began by using
body-workers in his own life
and numerous trips to Thailand, Bali and India. In order to start a journey to cultivate a body of knowledge,
Daniel undertook a two-year Master
Bodyworker program in San Francisco..
During his bodywork studies Daniel completed advanced training in deep tissue, sports massage, Swedish,
reflexology, Shiatsu, cranial sacral,
lymphatic and energetic work, prenatal, and elderly massage. Daniel aims to help patients achieve their personal
physical goals; including
working with injury, acute and chronic pain, as well as providing preventative maintenance massage.
Prior
to becoming a massage
therapist, Daniel worked as a professional stage actor across Europe and in the United States. He holds a Masters
in Theatre. |

Rikke Cox, Office
Manager
Rikke
comes to FitWell Chiropractic
Sports Medicine through the agency business. Rikke has found booking artists for gigs to be quite similar to
running the office of a
chiropractor.
"As silly as it sounds, working at FitWell gives me a sense of contributing to a better world. Seeing people come
in with pain and leave feeling
better. The results of our work show their rewards daily here at FitWell. I love that."
Rikke received her Master of Fine Arts degree in photography from ASU. Rikke is your typical bay area outdoor lover
preferring to surf in the
ocean
or ski on the mountains. You can also find Rikke volunteering at various native habitat restoration projects
throughout the city. |
